From the Foundation up: My Story
West Bend Native | Story teller | Photographer
At 23 years old, my roots run deep in Wisconsin. Long before I started professional photography, I was a kid borrowing my mom's camera. You'd find me at family weddings, parties, the local museum with my family, snapping away in my own world and teaching myself the art of observation.
My years of discovering who I am has never been a straight line. I spent years working different trades-navigating the fast pace of customer service, experiencing the grit of pouring concrete, and learning the precision of landscaping and tree work. While each of those jobs taught me an aspect of life, photography remained my only constant passion.
That passion really sparked while I was working at my local St. Vincent de Paul, where I found a Canon EOS Rebel. I used it to explore different niches of photography, starting with my Ford Fusion. It was my pride and joy, but also a canvas that taught me basic camera knowledge, the fundamentals of light, and most importantly; how to be a photographer.
Thinking back, I can confidently say that photography saved me. It gave me a way to capture our world, and its stories hidden within. It has allowed me to see God's creations abundantly, and I often find myself blessed to know, my work gets to make people smile.
I believe in capturing life authentically, being a teacher to others, and chasing that passion that drives you. Whether you're looking for a photographer to tell your story, or want to chat, I'm always ready for a new adventure. If you're ready to start your own, you can reach me here.
My 2017, Ford Fusion. It was equipped with Airlift suspension, riding on Variant Radon wheels, finished in bronze. My favorite thing about this car was the black and bronze combination.
Capturing the lifestyle I was living.
One of my very first wildlife photographs. I remember taking this and my family being astounded by it. It DEFINITELY sparked a love for birding.
